Common Use Arrangement

of the categories below.
Contracts WA is the starting point of your buying journey for goods and services available under Western Australia's whole-of-government contracts.

These contracts, otherwise known as Common Use Arrangements (CUAs), exist for goods commonly bought by government, for example fuel, computers, electricity, travel, advertising, groceries and stationery.

Regional Buying Arrangements (RBAs) exist for regional purchasing. Examples of these include groceries, agricultural products and waste services.

CUAs and RBAs deliver more than just savings through pre-negotiated pricing. They also offer efficiencies like easy ordering and risk mitigation strategies such as strict due diligence practices as part of the tendering process. These contracts have you covered when it comes to compliance with relevant government policy and insurance
requirements, too.

Most CUAs are mandatory in the Perth metropolitan area. Before you buy, check that your purchase falls within your organisation's procurement policies.

The CUA Approved Users List shows the Public Authorities, other government organisations and Public Benevolent Institutions that have approval from the Department of Finance to buy from most CUAs.

To make sure your chosen supplier gives you CUA prices, always quote the CUA number and identify yourself as a government buyer.

If you need help making the most of a particular CUA, contact the contract manager for help.

News and Information

Our website is changing

At the end of November, the Department of Finance is transitioning its ContractsWA web content to WA.gov.au.

WA.gov.au is a modern, accessible, search-based and state-wide website with minimal navigation. We recently moved our Finance.wa.gov.au content to the new platform and are confident it has provided an improved online customer experience for our users.

To help with the transition, temporary redirects from ContractsWA to WA.gov.au will be in place, so you will be able to access pages using any URL from the previous website. ContractsWA will be decommissioned in the near future, so we ask you to please update your saved links when the change occurs.

If you have any questions or feedback about our website transition, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Purchasing from registered Aboriginal businesses or Australian Disability Enterprises

Did you know that Public Authorities can buy directly from a registered Aboriginal business or Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) even where a mandatory CUA exists? An exemption template and guides are available to assist you.

For more information, please visit the Social Procurement Initiative webpage.

Training Opportunities

Government Procurement provides information for government buyers and businesses on the state government quote and tender process. For more information, please visit the Department of Finance Website to register for either Government Buyer or Supplier training.
